Delete your account

1. How to request deletion

Send an email to [email protected] with the subject Delete my SocietyOS account.

Include:

• The email address of the account (the one you use to sign in)
• Your full name
• Optional: the society name, if you know it

We will reply to that email to confirm it is you. Do not share your password. You can also open this page from Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app.

2. What we delete

After we verify the request we delete, as far as we control it:

• Your sign-in (Firebase Auth user) so the email can no longer open the app or portal
• Your member profile (name, email, phone, photo, country)
• Sessions, notification tokens and notification preferences
• Pending invitations sent to that email

If the same email is also a Partner or Super Admin login, we delete those staff logins too unless you tell us to keep them.

3. What we keep

Some records belong to your housing society (they are the data fiduciary for campus operations). We do not wipe society books because one resident leaves. We remove or anonymise your name and contact details from those records where we can. We may keep:

• Flat occupancy history, vehicle or gate logs the society needs for security or law
• Audit events required to show who changed what, with personal fields stripped or hashed
• Anything Indian law or a court order requires us to retain

4. How long it takes

We acknowledge the email promptly and aim to complete deletion within 30 days. If a society must confirm a tenancy or ownership record, that can add a few days; we will say so in the reply.
